Shashank Vege is 4th-year student at Metea Valley High School in Aurora, IL. He has had a passion for STEM since elementary school and wishes to specialize in the neuroscience field as well as go to medical school. As a junior, he was selected as a Nationals Finalist for Chemistry Olympiad, while obtaining 3rd in the State Anatomy Competition and 3rd in the Chicago Brain Bee. Currently, he is working under the guidance of Drs. Stephanie & John Cacioppo at the Center for Cognitive and Social Neuroscience and High-Performance Electrical Neuroimaging Laboratory in the University of Chicago, where he is part of the data reduction of eye-tracking data and MATLAB preprocessing of electroencephalography studies as a student researcher.
